PROJECTS -
PORTS, INFRASTRUCTURE & SHIPPING

Our practice includes port privatisations, restructurings, maritime and ports, mergers and acquisitions including the sale and purchase of shipping and ferry lines, docks and yards, ship and rig builders, and logistics companies.

Brus Chambers covers entire gamut of shipping including port, advising on major port and shipping deals in India and is also advising on international shipping and port projects. Our project port infrastructure and shipping lawyers facilitate the development, construction, and financing of numerous port and infrastructure projects, among others. We have successfully represented all of the leading to small players in this sector in high-profile to small-projects projects in a broad range of industries and geographic locations.

The rise of emerging markets and pace of globalisation means that ports are investing large sums to expand facilities to cope with increasing demand for imports and exports. This is at the same time as dealing with issues that have buffeted the wider shipping sector such as rising charter and fuel costs.

Brus Chambers has an impressive track record advising on port and infrastructure projects and transactions in the ports sector spanning a range of legal disciplines including acting on a number of mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions. We advise leading sponsors, banks and governments and port operators and regularly top the league tables for the number and value of deals completed in the ports sector.

Our experience of working in this sector allows us to provide our clients with rich and intelligent advice that demonstrates our understanding of all corporate, finance, construction, operational, permitting, zoning, environmental and regulatory issues which are likely to arise during a variety of transactions involving ports.

Brus Chambers' port and infrastructure team has experience in structuring, development, and financing of concession-based projects, PPPs, and privatizations of infrastructure projects. Our lawyers advise clients on projects in both developed and emerging markets and across a diverse range of industries and sectors.

Brus Chamber's practice attracted glowing praise. The firm is known for both its contentious work as well as advisory work.

...is a dominant force within the Indian admiralty, maritime and shipping market. The firm is especially noted for its experience in ship arrests and releases, not to mention P&I settlements, shipping finance, acquisitions and maritime arbitration. Impressive representative clients include Windforce Maritime Enterprises, Teesta Agro Industries and the Shun Shing Group. Of interest, the practice advised Club Alanzo VIP Cruises, who have entered into a construction contract for the building of a one-of-its-kind wooden vessel which will be operating as a seven star cruise liner, and acted for Kasturi Commodities in relation to its considered purchase of the high-profile Le Clemenceau vessel which found itself recalled because of the large volumes of asbestos carried onboard.
